The push towards making sustainability reporting as important as financial reporting gains more momentum every day. It has never been easier for an organisation to be transparent about their social and environmental impact. Sustainability reporting is not the whole picture. It will take some time before high-profile initiatives like the IFRS Foundation’s establishment of the International Sustainability Standards Board take hold. Currently, sustainability reporting in some cases is little more than PR. There are many indicators used to rank companies in some or all these areas. The jury is out on which of these are genuine, rigorous, and incorporate authoritative efforts that can truly be relied upon. So, we developed our own Social Responsibility Indicators Framework. Ours are a dynamic, evolving set of indicators that help us understand where a company stands on the issues we care about. It is also a tool for organisations that want to understand what being ethical and socially responsible means, and provides them with a measurable pathway to work towards achieving that goal.
This framework is freely available to our current and prospective clients, along with free resources and expert advice on how to best communicate where they stand in the areas they care the most about. In addition, we are working towards making the framework publicly available and are open to comments and contributions. Watch this space!
